ResponsibilitiesVisual and UI design for Sermo’s on-line physician community and client product lines. Visual design and production for all aspects of Sermo’s user interface including visual style, iconography, menus, and other graphical elements. UI design responsibilities include creation of user stories, definition of use cases, design and specification of workflows and information architecture, and creation of UI specifications. Assist developers in UI implementation. Key member of the team in Sermo’s Agile development environment. Help conduct and respond to usability tests.

 

Qualifications 5+ years of visual design experience, including multiple Web-based projects. Please submit your portfolio. 10+ years of UI design experience, with 5+ years of experience in UI Design for the Web including substantive AJAX-based
design. Experience designing social networking sites is a plus. Highly developed design sensibilities including knowledge of color theory, typography and branding. B.A. or B.Sc. or equivalent experience. Proven ability to create effective UI design from loosely defined requirements. Deep knowledge of user interface design principles. Strong CSS knowledge. DHTML and AJAX implementation skills are a plus. Strong oral, visual and written communication skills. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing, startup environment.
