ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST - PER DIEM

Diagnostic Health Corporation, a multi-modality facilities offering a combination of outpatient diagnostic imaging services, including MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, fluoroscopy, and nuclear medicine services currently has a Ultrasound Technologist - Per Diem position open at its Tuscaloosa, AL facility.

 

Position Summary
To produce imaging using ultrasound technology to assist physicians with formulating a medical diagnosis, while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. Specifically conducts ultrasound exams and documents clinically appropriate results for interpretive physician records.

 

ResponsibilitiesEnsures operational excellence and quality of care in the facility Demonstrates knowledge of all equipment to provide a safe environment for patients and staff Demonstrates knowledge of ultrasound safety to provide a safe environment for patients and staff Demonstrates continued competence in caring for individuals based upon age specific needs utilizing developmental perspective Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and documentation of competence of designated ultrasound exam Demonstrates knowledge and documented competency in operation of ultrasound equipment; utilizes aseptic technique, universal precautions, documentation skills, etc. Participates in performance improvement activities Collects appropriate clinical history and correlates findings with procedure being performed

Licenses or Certification
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registration or AART required. Licensure and certification registration as required by the state.

 

Education
Associates Degree from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography; One year of ultrasound experience preferred.
