UTILIZATION REVIEW MANAGER
Monthly Salary Range: $7,583 - $9,217

THE POSITION
Contra Costa County’s Health Services Department is offering an excellent career opportunity for individuals interested in a Utilization Review Manager position. The Department has one current vacancy. The position will be assigned to the Quality Management Unit of the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center located in Martinez, California.

The Utilization Review Manager plans, organizes and supervises the activities of the Utilization Review staff at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) or Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP); develops policies and procedures for adherence to governmental and accredited agency standards; provides administrative staff assistance to designated physician committees; performs the most complex assignments in the unit; and does related work as required.

The employment list established as a result of this examination may remain in effect for six (6) months and may be used to fill future vacancies in CCHP (Contra Costa Health Plan) and/or CCRMC (Contra Costa Regional Medical Center).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
License Required: Valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of California.

Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three (3) years of full-time (or the equivalent of full-time) experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital, one (1) year of which was in the capacity of a Charge Nurse or Head Nurse on a medical / surgical unit.

Substitution: Two (2) additional years as a Charge Nurse or Head Nurse may be substituted for the baccalaureate degree.

2. Oral Interview: An oral interview will be conducted by a Qualifications Appraisal Board in Martinez, Ca. The Board will evaluate candidates in job-related areas. Candidates must receive a rating of at least 70 from a majority of the Board members to be ranked on the employment list. (Weighted 100%)
