Vendor Relations Manager

Freelancers Insurance Company, a subsidiary of FreelancersUnion (www.freelancersunion.org), seeks a Vendor Relations Manager.  This newly created position will report tothe Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for managing all aspects ofour relationships with our health insurance vendors, from implementation and integrationthrough day-to-day management.  The idealcandidate is outcomes-oriented and can “make it happen”.  This position provides a unique opportunityto get in on the ground floor of a growing social purpose organizationaddressing health care issues. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIESServe as the day-to-day contact with the account managers of each vendor.Collaborate with vendors on implementing new programs and day-to-day operational issues.  Proactively anticipate and prevent potential issues/problems; work with vendors to resolve any existing issues/problems.Monitor vendor performance, including compliance with contracts, managing the curing process when a vendor is not in compliance, overseeing independent audits as necessary, and providing regular reports to management staff on vendor performance measures.Handle contract renewals and any changes to the scope of work provided by vendors.Coordinate and facilitate quarterly onsite vendor meetings to review program performance.

 

REQUIREMENTS5-10 years of related work experience.Some knowledge about health insurance operations and the health insurance industry.Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills. Detail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task.Ability to understand workflow processes.Advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite; experience working with project planning software and/or having a project manager certification is a plus.Ability to understand workflow processes.
