Vice President of Administration

Status:  Full Time, Employee We are seeking a Vice President of Administration to ensure overall development of strategies for short and long range planning in the following areas of the St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital: Surgical Services, Operating Room, Anesthesia, Department of Radiology, Laboratories, Pharmacy, and other clinical departments. He/She will develop policies and procedures for operational processes for areas under direct control in order to ensure optimization and compliance with established standards and regulations. The Vice President will also participate in institutional planning and management; fiscal decisions and quality improvement mechanisms as well as facilitate the activities and development of programs for all departments under direct accountability in accordance with the goals and mission statement of St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center.  In addition He/She will establish and maintain both formal and informal relationships with corporate and site administrators to integrate the goals of the division with those of the Hospital Center as well as coordinate activities, which assure compliance with standards, established by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care Organizations, New York State and other regulatory agencies. The Vice President will also lead and direct the work of other managers and directors. Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 10 years related experience required.Masters Degree preferredDemonstrated competence in the administration and management of a specific department in a large, teaching hospital. Ability to develop strong relationship with medical staff. Knowledge of regulations governing the operations of a large medical center as well as all aspects of hospital finances and clinical operations. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, families and significant others. Excellent communication skills and pre-disposition to being a visible leader.
