Description:
The University of New Mexico is seeking a board certified/board eligible, fellowship trained Vitreo-retinal specialist at the level of Assistant Professor on flex track, to support its activities in clinical care, teaching, and research at the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine. The desired candidate will have a broad range of clinical skills in retinal surgery and disease.

This position may be subject to criminal records screening in accordance with New Mexico state law. J1 Visas are not eligible for this opportunity.

 

Requirements:
Applicant must be medical doctor and BC/BE in ophthalmology surgery. Applicant must be eligible for licensure in New Mexico. Applicant must have completed an accredited ophthalmology residency program, as well as an accredited vitreo-retinal surgery fellowship.

 

Preferred Requirements:
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to the teaching of residents and medical students. Research interests in clinical and/or basic research is desired, but not required.
