Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller Summary

Hugely successful Global hospitality firm headquartered in Tysons Corner has TWO immediate needs due to growth.

Our client is looking to hire a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT and an ASSISTANT CONTROLLER to join the Corporate office on a full-time, permanent basis.

Primary Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller responsibilities include: Record, report, and reconcile correctly all corporate activity pertaining to partnership accounting.Support the financial statement close process of the corporate books on a monthly basis. Verify that the information entered into the GL is correct by analyzing all corporate accounts and preparing reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. Create reports and schedules for internal departments, markets and external auditors.Produce monthly, quarterly and yearly expense variance analysis reports for corporate office. Assist other corporate departments, internal auditors, and external auditors in collecting, verifying, explaining, reproducing, and formatting information.Prepare monthly pre-opening billings for projects under development. Administer banking access for corporate office/process all treasury transactions.Prepare monthly reporting package to parent company. Interact with business units in addressing issues/questions.Provide audit support as directed by Controller. Documenting procedures as needed. Supervise complete AP process including annual 1099s.

Essential Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller Skills & Characteristics

EducationCollege degree in accounting or related field CPA  candidates strongly preferred

Experience
4 to 7 years of general accounting experience

KnowledgeApplication of US GAAP, Internal controls and financial reportingExpert knowledge of Excel; Working knowledge of SAP is preferred.Exposure to external and internal audits strongly preferredExcellent organizational and communication skills
