Senior Technical Analyst

Specific Job Summary Engineer Linux-based solutions for MVCI Infrastructure Engineering. Provide OS (Linux, possibly some HP/UX and AIX) engineering support for MVCI infrastructure. This role includes planning, building, migration analysis and execution, patch analysis, and rollout/maintenance of the OS. Ensure application compatibility with hardware and software direction. Provide support/escalation for Systems Administration for installation, configuration, maintenance and operational troubleshooting issues. Perform integration analysis as well create and execute various projects in the Linux, HP/UX, and AIX operating system space. Specific Expected Contributions Assist in the design and integration of new server hardware and software. Provide 3rd level support for hardware/software (OS) issues. May be providing after hours support for Unix related issues. Evaluate and make recommendations on new hardware and software requests from MVCI Business partners and MVCI IR technical design engineers/architects. Document all information related to system design work and create rebuild instructions as required. Complete and provide the required documentation as prescribed by the Operations Management Sub-Process to transition technical solutions to operational support staff. Work with the desktop engineering team providing technical advice as required. Train systems administrators on new technologies prior to moving them into production. Provide timely feedback on associate’s performance (as requested). Specific Candidate Profile Skills Required: 5+years Unix (AIX/HP/UX/Linux) Administration/Engineering Shell programming Unix patch management Experience Preferred: Strong background in Unix type environments (e.g., Linux, AIX, HP/UX, etc.) Education/Certifications Preferred: 5+ years of server engineering/Unix related work.
