Staff Nurse II Critical Care

99 Montecillo RoadSan Rafael,CA 94903 Job Shift: Third Shift (Night) DEPARTMENT: CRITICAL CARE FLOAT: ICU/PACU/TELE SCHEDULE: Part-time, Regular; 36 hours/ week; Night Shift; 12 hour shift. EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. LICENSE: Current California R.N. License. CERTIFICATION: BLS-HCP and ACLS required. JOB SUMMARY: Directs and coordinates all aspects of nursing care to hospitalized patients. Collaborates with all members of the health care team to designate effective patient care plans. QUALIFICATIONS:  Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as an RN and a minimum of one year Critical Care experience in the last three years in an acute care hospital. Must be able to use defibrillator, cardiac monitors, respiratory equipment and EKG machine. Must have recent experience with invasive procedures and mechanical ventilators currently used in intensive care units. Previous experience in obtaining arterial blood gas specimens desired. Must be able to utilize the nursing process in the critical care setting, and function effectively in a fast paced environment. Must be able to care for patients on hemodynamic monitoring, hemodynamic invasive drips, and deliver high quality patient care quickly while developing and revising priorities to assure effective care. Flexibility with floating to PACU and Telemetry is required. Effective written and verbal English communication skills are required. Effective interpersonal, team, and organizational skills are required. Appropriate critical thinking and problem solving skills are required. Ability to perform medication calculations and administration, as demonstrated by successful completion of an entrance Medication Test.
