ASSISTANT ACTUARY

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Receive printout of policy, premium, and claim information from data processingGather additional information from various departmentsRun annuity extracts and prepare actuarial data such as statutory and tax reserves for monthly and quarterly reportsPerform manual and computerized calculations requiring multiple steps and methodsPrepare required interest and investment income reports for annuities and life products for monthly Statutory Financial ReportWrite computer programs to achieve desired resultsComplete surveys of Rating AgenciesReview and update consumer disclosures and advertising materials for correctness and numerical accuracyCalculate reserves for equity indexed annuities and Universal Life productsCalculate cash values and account balances for difficult or unusual casesVerify accuracy of proposal software upon development or alteration of productsCompute commuted values for annuity claims when requestedCalculate and program PC to figure monthly surrender and annuity rates for various productsPerform annual Cash Flow Testing on traditional life block of business and gather information necessary for the Actuarial memorandum on this block of businessCollaborate on development of new product design and pricingAssist in the preparation of actuarial portions of the annual statementPerform other duties as assigned
