MDA, located in Vancouver, BC, Canada, has been very active in international markets for more than 30 years with extensive operations in Asia, the United Kingdom and North America, and is relied on to provide mission-critical data and knowledge, often referred to as ‘essential information’ to a variety of clients. MDA subsidiaries in the UK and Canada collect data about property title, real estate transactions, and building information. Additional MDA businesses include space based information collection systems such as RADARSAT 1, associated satellite ground reception systems, airborne radar surveillance systems, and mapping and other information services based on aerial photos and satellite imagery.

Assume a senior leadership role building a results oriented profit center business within MSB that offers high quality consulting support for our customers and also spans all MSB business silos.

Primary Responsibilities:
· Work closely with sales and support departments in order to provide technical support to MSB client inquiries of a high technical level revolving around MSB software and data.
· Look for opportunities to sell approved high margin consulting support to our clients revolving around the use of MSB products and data. Enact sales and effectively deliver excellent results on time and on budget.
· Look for opportunities to sell approved high margin consulting support to our clients revolving around client defined projects that may not be related to specific MSB products and data. Enact sales and effectively deliver excellent results on time and on budget.
· Align MSB and potentially outside resources to accomplish projects for this business unit.
· Hire and train a support team dedicated to this effort.
· Manage expense and sales Budges and maintain sales pipelines and forecasts.
· Help the organization sell consulting services. Teach the staff to effectively and profitably do this.
· Coordinate consulting assignments with internal development staff to see to it that projects are properly executed that meet client expectations. Provide detailed requirements documents through Professional Services that are approved by clients and internal development or research teams.

Experience / Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years management experience in a commercially viable consulting management business offering software development inside the insurance or related financial services industry. Experience creating a consulting business from the ground up and managing to budgets. Experience asking for consulting dollars. Prior sales experience is helpful.

Experience selling value added products to insurance companies is also a benefit. However, we will look for the ideal candidate to appreciate and understand value proposition-level selling once the concepts are introduced, especially the MSB co-management sales program.

The ideal candidate will work with the product management, product development, delivery, marketing, research and sales groups assigned to support our Commercial Solutions Group business. Even if sales are not immediately forthcoming from our sales organization (sic) this business leader will be capable of taking his/her business initiatives to market on their own. MSB business leaders are excellent sales resources in themselves and this type of sales oriented persona is needed in the candidate hired.

· Able to negotiate with 3rd party vendors, MDA and/or customers on behalf of the business
