Account Manager - Insurance Consultant
Company History: Since 2001, Insurance Consulting firm has provided clients with honest, unbiased advice on lowering insurance costs. We are not brokers, and we don't sell insurance. For many clients, we are like a risk manager, with heavy emphasis on showing clients how to negotiate the best terms and pricing in the marketplace.
Job Description: Need Account Manager to help search the marketplace, prepare specifications, summarize coverage options, and work with clients. This is a fun job, very rewarding, and with little stress, compared to the usual brokerage or insurance company position.
Accounts we work with have between 100 and 1,000. employees.
Flexible hours can be considered, as can some work-at-home time for the right person.
About 50% of the job involves use of technical knowledge, and about 50% is on the phone with brokers, underwriters, and clients.
Many different types of accounts are clients, including nursing home clients, restaurant chains, manufacturers, contractors and others.
Job Requirements: Requires at least 5 years experience in commercial property & liability underwriting, or with a brokerage firm, handling accounts that pay at least $100,000. annually.
CPCU or other technical education greatly preferred. Strong coverage knowledge required.
Personal attributes required: High Intelligence. Self starter. Personable. Organized.
This is NOT a sales position, but person must have ability to speak, persuasively at times, to many different people. About 50% of the job is on the phone with brokers, underwriters, clients. The other 50% involves application of technical coverage knowledge. Compensation will vary, based on experience.
