Salary/Wage:37,000.00 - 44,000.00 USD /year Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Accounting/Finance/Insurance Company:Sentry Insurance Contact:Terri Baumann Email:Apply by Email Reference Code:TB: WI Accountant I Responsibilities:Collects, assembles, or records appropriate data, verifies its accuracy, and identifies inconsistencies, which may include performing some introductory auditing or review of tax returns and other governmental reports. Prepares charts, tables or other exhibits to be used in reports and prepares basic financial statements. Maintains compliance with regulatory and tax reporting requirements. Reconciles reports, specific system output and financial data, noting inconsistencies and errors. Completes assigned steps in accounting analysis, such as computing comparisons or ratios. Assists in projects by researching, interpreting and summarizing accounting literature and communicating with various internal departments and outside sources to secure complete and accurate data. Develops knowledge of the systems and reports utilized by the Accounting function. Assists in conducting audits and making recommendations to reduce risks or improve operationsQualifications:Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience. 0-2 years of related work experience. Ability to apply basic accounting principles, theories and concepts to an accounting system or organizational process. Ability to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. Ability to use appropriate accounting and auditing theory and practice to review, interpret and communicate data. Written and verbal communication skills. Personal computer skills and knowledge of data processing concepts.Compensation and Benefits:The starting salary can be from $37,000-$44,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
