Accountant III Portland, OROversee specific general or cost accounting activities or functions which can include the following:Prepare, review, analyze and verify Corporate GAAP and statutory financial statements and regulatory reportsReview and analyze cost allocations in compliance with CAS, develop policies and procedures in support of company's internal controls, account and report reconciliations, and develop internal and external accounting reports, including audit schedules and supportProvide support and coordination for the operation of complex financial systems to ensure accuracy, integrity and consistencyOffer ad-hoc assistance, training and guidance to departmental staffCombine your degree and experience with the following skill sets:BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is required; CPA, CMA or MBA is preferredMinimum of 2 years experience or equivalent combination of education and significant work experience with demonstrated accomplishments and expertiseBased on area of expertise, demonstrated application of in-depth accounting knowledge in the following areas is necessary: Financial Reporting and General Accounting: Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) for Health Care Service Contractors and Health Maintenance Organizations as promulgated by the NAICCost Accounting: Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR); GAAP and SAPGovernment Accounting: FEHBAR, FAR, CAS, GAAP Leadership abilities such as managing projects, training staff, and leading cross-functional teamsAbove average ability working with complex PC and mainframe software and systems both as currently used by the Company and alternative industry standardsCapability to think analytically and to make sound judgments from analysisAbility to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels in the work forceCapability to plan and organize work, projects and the work of others in the department, with minimal supervisionAbility to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of staff and managementCapability to work flexible hours as required, including moderate out-of-town travelAbility to research and prepare ad-hoc reportsHard work and dedication is rewarded at Regence: We offer a competitive salary and a generous benefits package.For consideration, please visit our Web site at www.regence.com/careers and Apply Online to Job #16546.We are an equal opportunity employer dedicated to workforce diversity and a drug and smoke-free workplace.
