Accountant, Senior II  Primary Responsibilities Include:·  Maintaining and controlling accounts and records to ensure adherence to generally accepted Accounting principles (GAAP)·  Interpreting and applying rules and regulations issued by Accounting and regulatory agencies (i.e. FASB and SEC)·  Compiling and analyzing financial information·  Recording financial transactions·  Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of Accounting data·  Preparing the Company’s financial reports—including balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, consolidated financial statements, disclosures, Accounting schedules, SEC filings and regulatory reports·  Evaluating the profitability and efficiency of companywide divisions, products and/or business areas·  Assisting in evaluating the impact of Accounting-related regulatory changes on the Company’s financial statements and Accounting controls·  Assisting in the design, modification, installation and/or maintenance of Accounting systems to ensure adequate receipt of financial transactions·  Providing analyses and recommendations regarding decision-making processes that directly impact the application of Accounting regulations and practices·  Participating in projects and decision-making processes within assigned department and/or business-unit·  Completing various assignments that require highly complex and sophisticated analysis·  Overseeing the control of accounts and records·  Reviewing and commenting on new Accounting practices and procedures·  Providing leadership and/or guidance to others (in an informal capacity)·  Working on assignments that require judgment and initiative in resolving problems, providing recommendations and making significant choices and/or decisions  A Successful Candidate Will Have:·  High school diploma, GED or equivalent·  4+ year(s) of Accounting experience·  Advanced computer-skills—including proficiency with various spreadsheet and database software/applications·  Extensive knowledge of internal and industry-specific rules and regulations·  High degree of competency in interpreting and applying Accounting principles, practices, policies and procedures·  Strong analytical and verbal/written communication skills·  Effective interpersonal skills and ability to relate to Management  The Ideal Candidate May Also Possess:·  Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)  Countrywide is committed to leveraging the talent of a diverse workforce to create great opportunities for our business and our people.
