Position:  Accounting Assistant

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



1.  Opening, time stamping, distribution of mail.

2.  Code Check Requests.

3.  Input of check requests, wire transfers, manual checks, purchase orders into CDS system.

4.  Input of Voids into CDS system.

5.  Matching A/P checks to back up and give to Cash Disbursements for signature.

6.  Typing of manual checks, also, maintaining manual check logs.

7.  Reconcile of Vendor statements.

8.  Answer vendor inquiries.

9.  Miscellaneous Projects.

10.  Separation and distribution of all CDS reports.

11.  All A/P filing and maintenance of same.

12.  Overtime required.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 1.  2 year degree in Accounting or comparable experience.

2.  Minimum of 6 months A/P experience.

3.  Understanding of basic accounting principles.

4.  Computer skills.

5.  Ability to pay close attention to detail.

6.  Excellent verbal telephone communication skills.

7.  Able to work well under pressure.

8.  Organizational Skills.

9.  Minimum Typing (40-45 wpm) test necessary.
