Actuarial Analyst - Pricing

Organization & Location: Kemper, A Unitrin Business5210 Belfort Road, Suite 120Jacksonville, FL  32256 Salary Range – Commensurate with experienceQualifications:  See below Description:Kemper has an opening for an actuarial analyst in our Jacksonville, FL, home office.  Kemper sells personal auto and homeowners policies in 39 states via independent agents.  Our Actuarial Pricing Department provides all actuarial support for this personal lines operation, including pricing, research, and reserving analysis.  Our analysts experience a diverse range of projects, utilizing advanced statistical methods and predictive modeling, while working in a cooperative team environment to meet the needs of our customers in all departments.  Our analysts work closely with other departments, most extensively Product Management and Underwriting, on various actuarial modeling and profitability studies. Primary responsibilities of this position include:·  Preparing auto and home rate review packets and support of our Product area as they complete rate changes.·  Conducting research studies to support implementation of new products and revisions to existing rating plans. Qualifications for this position include:·  PhD or MS in Statistics, Math or Actuarial Science strongly preferred.·  Expertise with Generalized Linear Models strongly preferred.·  Programming experience required, SAS and Visual Basic Application strongly preferred.·  Completion of 1 to 4 actuarial exams.·  Work experience in casualty insurance, preferably in the actuarial areas described as the primary responsibilities for this position.   Our Actuarial Pricing Department offers a comprehensive actuarial exam study program including exam fees, study materials, work study hours, exam seminars and exam raises for successfully passing exams.  The company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and life insurance choices along with a 401K and pension plan, paid time off, company paid holidays and business casual dress.  EOE M/F/D/V.
