We are one of the leading insurance companies in the United States.  Our superior financial strength and consistent record of strong operating returns mean security for our customers - and opportunities for our employees.  You will find Travelers to be full of energy and a workplace in which you truly can make a difference. We are currently looking for a Administrative Assistant (File Clerk).  Please read on for more details regarding this position. JOB DESCRIPTION: SUMMARYProvide simple to moderately complex administrative support for law office operations.  May independently research and execute projects as well as assist other support and professional personnel with administrative and project duties. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESNot all duties and responsibilities listed below may be performed in each position, depending upon law offices business needs. -Complete routine office tasks as needed such as typing, filing, faxing, scanning, photocopying and mail duties.-Serve in a primary or back-up capacity for office reception and switchboard duties including answering telephone calls and greeting visitors appropriately.-Complete data entry utilizing case management system, including calendaring and docketing critical dates for attorneys.-Complete typing assignments of moderate to high complexity utilizing Microsoft Word and/or case management system.-Take full responsibility for assigned special administrative projects in varying scope and length; able to research difficult material with little to no supervision and provide results and/or recommendations to senior administrative and professional personnel.-Use moderate to advanced conflict resolution skills while completing assigned tasks and projects.-Maintain and organize legal files.-Assist paralegals and other staff with document production, discovery requests and other tasks related to legal defense of clients.-Perform other administrative duties as needed and requested. EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE-High School Diploma or its equivalent required.-Associates Degree or vocational secretarial training highly desired.-Minimum 2 yrs. experience in an automated office environment.  Law firm or professional service experience highly desired. SKILLS-Strong grammar and writing skills.-Professional demeanor and appearance.-Proficient in Microsoft Word.-Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.-Strong customer service skills-Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment-Ability to manage time and tasks effectively-Typing min. 45 wpm In addition to an exciting environment, we offer: * Competitive base salary with additional opportunities for variable pay through recognition programs and incentive awards * 401(k) with company match* Comprehensive health plans that include coverage for same sex/domestic partners* Strong work/family and employee assistance programs* Tuition reimbursement * Vacation Purchase Plan* Training/Development opportunities We are proud to provide comprehensive, high quality employee programs to meet employees' needs now and in the future, including a very competitive financial package.
