Transamerica Life Insurance Company, an AEGON company, is a leader in the worldwide insurance industry for over 40 years.  AEGON is an international pension, insurance and financial services organization.  Transamerica is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where approximately 3200 individuals are employed. 

 

This position will be located in the Transamerica Capital Markets (TCM) division. TCM is one of the nations leading providers of annuity and life insurance products to banks, wirehouses, broker/dealers, and institutional clients. In Cedar Rapids, TCM primarily manufactures, administers, and services annuity products issued by several AEGON USA operating companies.

 

 Responsibilities 

·  Develops specifications for new and existing systems.

·  Designs, codes, tests, and documents programs.

·  Coordinates with co-workers, clients, operations, technical support, and vendors.

·  Interfaces with clients to determine requirements, resolve problems, and perform testing.

·  Analyzes system and program requirements.  Solves problems with systems and programs.

·  Performs limited training services.

·  May provide direction on specific projects and frequently works independently.

·  Demonstrates a clear understanding of software development.

·  May assist in mentoring junior members of the team.

·  Must be able to manage multiple activities at the same time.

 

Specific Duties

·  Maintenance of Ant scripts used for builds and installs.

·  Maintenance of other build/elevation scripts.

·  Maintenance of distributed Change Management tool (PVCS).

·  Handle daily code elevations.

·  Handle monthly release code elevations.

·  Cross-train other members of the Change Control team.

·  Attend project meetings.

·  Document Change Control processes.

 

This position does require occasional work outside of normal business hours, including one weekend a month for Production code elevations. 

 

 Qualifications 

·  2-year computer science or business degree or equivalent experience.

·  Generally a minimum of 2 years work experience.

 

 

Technical Skills include:

·  JAVA

·  XML

·  VBScript or Jscript

·  UNIX

·  Experience with ANT, REXX, and PVCS or other Change Management tool preferred. 

 

 

The salary range for this position is $46,000.00-$61,000.00-$76,000.00.
