Application Systems Analyst - Specialist

Job Description:

 

This position is a technical lead role acting as a liaison between development, project management, and the business community.  This role will implement many aspects of the software development lifecycle with strong emphasis on requirements analysis, high level design, configuration management, and code reviews.  This position is a fast paced and dynamic role encompassing roles and responsibilities including: design, development, project management, mentoring, and software lifecycle management.

 

Job duties include but are limited to the following:

 

· Analyze problems and provide high level solutions

· Read and analyze Java code for clarity, syntax, implementation, and performance

· Provide feedback on high level software designs

· Work with the business partners and project management to define and clarify business requirements and non-functional requirements

· Assist in production troubleshooting and analysis

· Provide high level software estimates

· Documentation of existing systems and detailed analysis of new systems.

· Analyze and prioritize production problems and functional requests

· Work in a proactive manner to define and identify potential application issues and problem areas.

 

Requirements:

 

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

· Experience with industry standard software development methodologies.  Project management/team lead experience preferred.

· Experience implementing configuration management and software version control processes.  Experience with Serena Dimensions is a plus.

· Hands on experience with software design and project estimation.  Technical lead/architect experience preferred.

· Hands on experience developing software in a distributed J2EE software environment.  Senior developer experience preferred.

· Experience with Rational and Caliber RM is a plus

· Strong written and oral communication skills are required.

· Must be able to handle multiple concurrent projects
