Assistant Controller

Job Description:

This position will report to the V.P. Corporate Controller and CAO. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for directing and managing various financial aspects of the company, including preparation of  financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including internal management reporting and SEC reporting. Implementing and maintaining effective internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404, supervision of accounting staff and other financial related activities.

 

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

 

· Daily management of all facets of the general ledger through financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP, including timely reporting to senior management and SEC reporting.

· Monitor compliance with internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404, recommend and implement enhancements.

· Supervision and training of staff.

· Overall responsibility for revenue and related processes.

· Complete daily, monthly and adhoc projects as assigned by senior management.

· Liaison with outside auditors for quarterly reviews and year end audits, including preparation and review of audit schedules.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA required.

· Must have at least 5 years or more of progressive Accounting or Finance experience, including 2 or more years in public accounting. “Big Four” and/or public company experience a plus.

· Must have at least 2 or more years of successful supervisory experience.

· Strong understanding of GAAP.

· Ability to work well with senior management and influence decision-making.

· Must have ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment with all levels of personnel.

· Outstanding organizational and time management skills, able to prioritize multiple assignments.

· Adept at using -Microsoft Office software programs (Excel, Access, Word) and adept at learning new software programs.

· Able to work both independently and as part of a team.

· Results oriented; strong work ethic; takes initiative.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation skills.
