We are currently hiring for an Associate Benefits Review Specialist to conduct independent reviews of disputed disability and life claims determinations in a timely, accurate and objective manner. This position will communicate decisions to claimants, beneficiaries and/or their legal representatives, and Benefits management by providing responsive and caring customer service to claimants, beneficiaries, policyholders, and other internal and external customers. Primary responsibilities for this position include: - Conduct independent reviews of disputed claims which generally involve routine medical, vocational and/or contractual issues; identify file/fact discrepancies and outstanding issues and coordinate the receipt of additional documentation as necessary to allow for reasonable and well-supported claims determinations. - Work with ISG Legal Department to clarify issues, prepare files for litigation, and resolve or settle disputed claims. Communicate decisions to claimants/beneficiaries or their representatives, as well as to the appropriate Division personnel. Provide feedback to the ARU Supervisor and/or Benefits Supervisor with regard to training or claims administration issues identified in contested claims reviewed. To succeed in this exciting role you will need: - Bachelor's degree in business, science or related field. - Progressively responsible experience as an Associate Disability Benefits Analyst or Disability Benefits Analyst, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. Ability to analyze and apply medical, vocational, and contractual information to disability, life and waiver of premium claims; ability to prioritize work and complete reviews in accordance with regulatory timeframes.
