Provides general/routine clerical support for a functional unit or office, suchas distributing mail, copying and assembly of documents, faxing, filing,proofreading and basic telephone support.

Stamps, sorts, and distributes mail. Stamps or numbers forms by hand or machine.Prepares outgoing mail as appropriate. Faxes documents per instructions fromoriginator.

Photocopies documents; sets up and maintains document files. May be required tooperate microfilm or microfiche machines to record and retrieve information.

Answers telephones, takes messages and refers callers to appropriate teammembers or departments. Responds to telephone inquiries and handles routineproblems and requests.

Writes, types, or enters information into computer to prepare correspondence,bills, statements, receipts, checks, or other documents, copying informationfrom one record to another.

Proofreads records or forms. Counts, weighs, or measures material. Sorts andfiles records.

Addresses envelopes or packages. Stuffs envelopes by hand or with envelopestuffing machine.

High School diploma or GED and six months related experience and/or training, orequivalent combination of education and experience.

Good computer and related software application skills.

Good math and writing skills.

Effective communication skills.

Good organizational skills.
