the role for you. We are a high volume call center with an emphasis on quality,
production and adherence to schedule objectives.

The Customer Service Representative plays an intregal part in the success of
Blue Shield. Our goal is to provide exceptional levels of service to the members
we support and the providers that we do business with.

In this role representatives responds to and resolves various customer inquiries
via telephone and correspondence and resolve claims problems within established
production and quality standards. Customer inquiries are typically regarding
Benefits, Eligibility and Claims related issues.

Answers incoming calls and written requests for information from members or
those acting on their behalf promptly and accurately. All responses are expected
to be handled accurately and promptly while maintaining quality expectations.

Composes routine and non-routine correspondence to answer member inquiries that
require a written response.

Coordinates with other departments to ensure timely and appropriate responses.

Expedites and resolves complex issues and may make claims adjustments.

Educates others on the Blue Shield product, benefit information, claims
processing information as well as providing accurate information and updates to
policies and procedures, improving overall customer satisfaction in the process.

Works under close supervision or detailed instructions.

Expedites complex issues to resolution, including adjustments to claims.

Our Service Center hours are from 7:00am-7:00pm.

High school diploma or GED and three months member/customer service or related
experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Claims processing or related HMO experience and/or training.

Ability to enter and retrieve data using computers with related software
applications.

Good business telephone and writing skills.
