Auto Physical Damage Appraiser - Work From Home Opportunity We are currently looking for an Auto Physical Damage Appraiser for the Bay Area Territory covering Oakland, San Jose, and San Francisco. Candidates must live within 30 miles of the assigned territory. This will be a remote location position working from home. A company car, laptop computer, cell phone, and other required equipment will be provided. Auto Physical Damage AppraiserJob Responsibilities: Appraises and invesitgates damages as reported by customers. Receives appraisal assignments in an electronic fashion. Responsible for contacting the customer and setting an appointment to complete the appraisal. Reviews, explains, and negotiates completed damage estimates with customers and shops. Issues payments on appropriate claims. Documents claims system and communicates with inside adjusters.Knowledge & SkillsThis level of knowledge is generally acquired through a college degree or equivalent work experience Requires a preferred minimum of 3 years experience related to auto damage appraisal. Experience creating auto damage appraisals with an emphasis on auto body repair and refinishing is a must. Additional experience related to the repair of mechanical, frame, suspension and other related automotive components are of added benefit. ASE (Automotive Service Excellence)and/or ICAR (Interindustry Conference on Automotive Industry Repair) certifications preferred. Experience creating computerized appraisals on approved software is required. Experience creating damage appraisals related to damage sustained by watercraft, motorcycles, heavy equipment, commercial vehicles and all other property types other than family auto or truck. Interpersonal skills must be adequate to effectively negotiate fair and equitable settlements of all amounts required to restore the damaged property to its pre-accident condition pursuant to all recognized industry and company standards.
