BI Architect

DescriptionThis position will focus on the design and delivery of: Dashboards, Reports, User Interfaces, and associated database design and platforms using Microsoft technology, applications and tools.  The successful candidate should possess deep technical expertise in database design, ETL, reporting and analytics and will have previous consulting experience utilizing a structured delivery methodology.  *Leads projects that design and deliver data models, Analysis Services/OLAP cubes, Reporting Services, and dashboards in response to business requirements. *Communicates with business users to design and deliver dashboards, reports and other user interfaces that drive business value and efficiently and effectively leverage the use of data. *Design and develop the architecture for all data warehousing components (e.g. tool integration strategy; source system data ETL strategy. Data staging, moving and aggregation; information and analytics delivery; and data quality storage)*Design of the data warehouse data storage strategy/technique.*Works with a variety of internal and external users to develop data models and performs data design reviews with the rest of the project team as appropriate. *Provides assistance with data migration, data mapping, and data interface development activities. Requirements*5 years of experience with data warehouse development lifecycles or in Business Intelligence.*Strong relational database experience in logical and physical data models and data marts.*Strong experience in OLAP/Cube design and build (preferably Microsoft Analysis Services) is desirable.*Strong experience with relational and multidimensional data warehouse and business intelligence concepts is required.*In-depth knowledge and experience of Microsoft SQL Server 2005.*Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services, Reporting Services, and Integration Services (formerly DTS) is desirable.*Experience with other OLAP, ETL, and BI tools is a plus. *Knowledge of Oracle database environment a plus.*Knowledge of the use of source control systems including Subversion and VSS   Job Title: BI Architect Company: Covansys Location: Overland Park, KS Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Information Technology Company: Covansys Reference Code: BIARCHKS
