Benefits Account Manager
Description:Operates in concert with assigned producers as the manager of an assigned book of group employee benefits (medical, dental, etc.) business. Responsible for marketing, servicing, retention and growth of their assigned book underwritten by Wausau Signature Agency markets to meet the needs of the clients and maximize income opportunities. Guides other members of their team to meet and exceed service standards, retention targets, cross-selling goals and HIPAA compliance.Qualifications:Education/Experience Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent business background along with a minimum of 5 years' experience managing various Employee Benefits lines of business within the agency system. Significant prior work experience in an agency setting is strongly desired. Fully licensed in accident and health insurance. Professional designation, such as CPCU is desirable. Knowledge and Skills Excellent written and oral communications skills. Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels, both within and outside the organization to work with policyholders and company service personnel. Moreover, individual has evidenced strong negotiation skills and a high level of persistency and consistency in meeting deadlines. Evidence, through previous experience, of very effective problem solving skills, with ability to exercise considerable independent judgment in examining all aspects of an issue, exploring various alternatives, and creating innovative solutions. Ability to work in an environment of constant product and market changes. Maintains technical proficiency through ongoing awareness of industry changes. Some knowledge of agency accounting procedures and basic errors and omissions procedures is strongly desired. Demonstrates effective organizational and prioritization skills in the handling of an extensive and diverse volume of Employee Benefits accounts.
