Partnering with the Property Practice Leader and Loss Control and both Home Office and field operations, you will apply your minimum of 5 to 7 years of commercial property underwriting expertise to product analysis, positioning, marketing, development, implementation, training and measurement of results. Please read on for the full job description and to apply online.Develop and maintain company or independently filed Commercial Lines products, policies, guides, procedures, and objectives for assigned lines of business. Provide support by directing underwriting activity for assigned referrals.To successfully perform this job, the individual must be able to perform each essential job responsibility satisfactorily. Develop, formulate, and implement underwriting policies, guides, procedures, and objectives. Collect and analyze data to identify opportunities or problems that require a change in underwriting strategy for assigned lines of business. 20 2. Develop and maintain policy forms, coverage parts, and rules as needed to meet Company strategies. 15 3. Review referred risks which exceed branch level of underwriting authority and recommend action as appropriate. 15 4. Develop clear risk selection criteria supporting the business strategy of the assigned line of business. 10 5. Communicate with other departments and regional offices to coordinate line management issues and activities. 10 6. Lead and provide oversight for projects and project teams related to assigned lines of business. 10 7. Review, evaluate, and implement technical materials from rating bureaus, insurance departments, legislatures, public service commissions, and other sources 5 8. Assist the home office technical services unit in training of underwriters regarding product features, underwriting criteria, and standards. 5 9. Follow required procedures for making changes to or adding key controls to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) relevant processes, keeping documentation up to date, and testing key controls as required. 5 10. Improve processes within the Company to increase the level and quality of service provided to internal and external customers. 5Qualifications:Required Education and/or Experience:Bachelors degree in Business, Insurance or related field, or its equivalent and continuing education related to the job. 5 to 7 years formalized commercial underwriting experience with demonstrated achievements and progressive responsibilities. Job Related Knowledge and Skills:Comprehensive knowledge of commercial lines underwriting principles and analytical principles and analytical knowledge of commercial lines pricing tools.
