CIS PMM Cargo Underwriter

This position supports the achievement of the PMM Cargo underwriting goals related to profit, customer service, and producer relationships.

Main Responsibilities Include:
*Underwrite and negotiate renewals and endorsements with a total premium of $6,000,000 to $7,000,000 commercial lines book of business.
*Lines of business include cargo, a working knowledge of inland marine, and boiler and machinery is preferred.
*Handle a customer count of 350 to 400 accounts.
*Achieve favorable retention within given territory.
*Marketing and servicing accounts based on Chubb guidelines.
*Develop strong relationships with independent agents and brokers in order to successfully manage our business which may require travel to producer locations.

Skills and Competencies:
*Candidate must have proven ability to successfully negotiate on all levels and develop producer relations.
*A strong track record of service orientation is required.
*Knowledge of marketing principles, underwriting and pricing strategies.
*The aptitude to attract and retain profitable business is essential.
*A solid background in risk analysis is essential.
*Candidate must have strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
*The ability to work independently and cohesively in a team environment in conjunction with service staff, loss control, field marketing underwriters and branch employees is essential.
*The ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment is crucial.
