The CISCO Network Engineer is responsible for the technical support of personal computer networks and related peripheral equipment, including hardware, software and communications interfaces under the direction of the Network Administration Supervisor. Education
Professional Certifications or Credentials
- 8+ years professional experience working as Sr. Network Administrator
- Cisco Certification is required (CCIE, CCDP, CCVP, CCNP, CCSP)
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer is required (MCSE 2003)
- VoIP experience is mandatory
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in technical or scientific discipline or related field
-Cisco Router and Catalyst switch installation, configuration, troubleshooting and upgrades
- Cisco CallManager, Unity Voice Mail, IVR and IPCC Express
- Expert knowledge in both network design, and hands on experience in supporting highly available network infrastructure in a fast paced large scale, environment.- Expert knowledge in setting up VLANs, VLAN Trunks, Network Redundancy, Cisco ASA, Load Balancers, VPNs, IDS, IPS, ACLs, Network Security, Routing and Switching.
- Knowledge of IP Concepts including MST/STP, QoS, tuning and capacity management concepts.
- Cisco MDS zoning and server provisioning both single path single server through multi-path clusters.
- Fibre channel switch management.
- Expert knowledge on all routing protocols, Layer 3 load balancing and redundancy setup, especially BGP, OSPF, MPLS, GLBP, HSRP, and VRRP.
- Layer 2 redundancy and affect on layer 3, Trunking, Port channels
- Experience in dealing with ARIN, APNIC, and other address registries
- In-depth experience working with large scale routers such as Cisco 7600, and 6500 series routers.
- Familiarity with MPLS
- HigherGround recording experience
- Hitachi, EMC and Netapp SAN experience
- Experience with server and network monitoring, capacity planning, change management and configuration policies.
- Knowledge of how Active Directory, windows servers, Unix servers and clustered servers impacts the network.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, configure and implement Cisco-based network equipment.
- Preparation of quotes, estimates and proposal documentation.
- Provide documentation as required including Visio diagrams, Inventory and IP management spreadsheets and others as required.
- Troubleshoot installation issues to resolve design and operational problems.
- Ensure the continuous availability of all data network services.
- Complex problem solving abilities with experience in performing root cause analysis.
- Extensive knowledge of network security management and authentication.
- Willingness and ability to teach and train others.
- A team player with good verbal and written communication skill.
- 24x7 available for emergency escalations.
- Participate in ''On Call'' rotation.
