Job ID: 7218Location: San Diego, CADepartment: 1PCRelocation Provided: YesEducation Required: Bachelors DegreeExperience Required: 5 - 7 YearsPosition Description: Directs and coordinates all phases of the Division Marketing efforts to accomplish individual and collective goals established by the State Office; responsible for the attainment of profitable Policy-in-Force growth, loss ratio, service and FIG earnings objectives; gives guidance, leadership, communication, and assistance to District Managers, and to Agents through District Managers, to the end that agency development, property, casualty and life production, including financial products and services, loss ratio administration and enhancement, policy growth, profit and all other goals set by the companies for the Marketing Division are met.Position Requirements:Administers and controls the Marketing, Agency Development and growth objectives established for the Division, as well as, responsible for obtaining established productivity goals for the Division. Recruits, selects, trains, and maintains an adequate number of qualified District Managers, commensurate with the division's market potential, including the establishment of new districts; implements and updates programs designed to provide adequate DM staffing and development of replacement DMs. Informs District Managers about the policies, practices, and procedures of the companies. Trains and assists District managers in the recruitment, selection, licensing, training, and retention of a sufficient number of Agents to accomplish assigned net gain in full-time Agents, as well as, produce a volume of profitable all line new business, and maintains a high persistency of quality business, including Life Sales, to achieve gains in profitable Policy-in-Force. Reviews and evaluates the results obtained by District Managers to recognize outstanding accomplishment and, when necessary, takes prompt action to remedy weaknesses utilizing the resources provided by the Marketing Support function. Recommends replacement of District Managers when necessary and develops a pool of qualified replacement District Manager candidates. Approves reserve and career trainee appointments within Division and within guidelines set by State Executive authority. Directs and administers the reserve, career, and full-time agent training programs. Observes, evaluates, and monitors the quality of District Manager agent training; makes analysis of findings with recommendations for changes to Regional Management and District Managers. Assists District Managers in identifying deteriorating or unprofitable agencies; guides District Managers in the development of corrective plans and programs, utilizing the resources of the Marketing Support function and the Division profit Center concept. Approves or terminates all Agent subsidies and special advertising allowances within District subject to State Office authority. Monitors the assignment and transfer of all policies (5xx/7xx/3xx) to ensure conformity with policy assignment rules. Maintains two-way communications with the State Office, Service Centers and the agency force; initiates corrective action regarding improper policy service, claims handling, premium remittance, underwriting rules, and correspondence. Promotes favorable public image of the Companies, handles legislative issues, and through that participation identifies prospective Marketing Management Trainee candidates. Analyzes and evaluates Division, as well as, District Operations and makes recommendation for improvement; provides direction and guidance to District Managers to enhance their Claims, Underwriting, and Policy Service Operations to improve profitability and productivity; acts as facilitator at Division and District Profit Center Programs. Works with the Service Center Marketing Support staff and Agency Computer System Representative in providing training and education to District Managers in the Agency Computer System; assures that ACS penetration and utilization are within stated goals. Works with Marketing Education Manager and District Managers by utilizing existing training programs to increase productivity and enhance surplus contribution, as well as, develop new educational and training programs at the Division level to promote Agency professionalism; responsible for contributing to the attainment of Company education goals at District Manager and Agent level. Works in concert with BCM's and acts as liaison to Personal Lines Operations Manager to achieve shared goals. Develops and/or analyzes production and PIF information, as well as accompanying demographic information, necessary to adequately project market availability and proposed penetration of that market. Plans, develops, and assigns Division marketing and Agency Development quotas; allocates approved quotas by District. Promotes safety at all times and complies with safety/ergonomic standards as outlined in relevant company published manuals.
