Cargo Marine Underwriter

Max Specialty Insurance Company (Max Specialty), a member of Max Capital Group, is seeking a highly motivated and professional Cargo Marine Underwriter to join its Marine Division in their New York City office.

 

Max Specialty is headquartered in Richmond, VA.

 

We are seeking an experienced individual who can drive growth and profitability.  Duties include, but are not limited to, account underwriting, building customer relationships and producer management.  The Cargo Marine Underwriter will report to the Ocean Marine Vice President.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company.

 

Responsibilities:

 Grow, maintain, and service a book of Marine business providing for profitable growthSolicit new Marine business from a variety of production sourcesProvide a high degree of service to our customersWork within a team environment to handle all phases of Marine insurance processSupport to Ocean Marine Vice President in the development of new products, forms and systems supporting the ocean marine line of business

Requirements:

 Bachelor's degree preferredStrong computer skillsAbility to communicate clearly via written and spoken communicationAbility to analyze risk and find solutions that are beneficial to our insureds and our CompanyKnowledge of a variety of Marine classes is preferredStrength in servicing a Marine book of business is a strong plus
