Client Advisor I - Political Risk - Marsh - New York, NY or Washington DC
Work with senior members of the Political Risk Practice to develop technical expertise. Assist is account servicing with the goal of assuming a lead Client Advisor role for a portfolio of existing accounts. Account responsibilities include program design, market selection, placement and ongoing maintenance.Assist in the identification of prospects. Work with Marketing Specialist to maintain current product briefings and other material available on Inside Marsh.Extensive interaction with Client Executive and Industry Practices. Essential FunctionsClient service and placement.· Meets with client to assess their risk management needs. · Reviews the client's exposures and loss experience against current types of coverage and analyzes the risks to determine the products and service requirements. · Leads risk identification process in area of specialty. · In conjunction with the Global Placement Organization and Sr. Client Advisor (depending on level), develops a broking plan in response to client needs and gains client's approval. · Communicates the broking plan to clients, brokers or carriers, as appropriate. · Receives, negotiates and evaluates quotes from the carrier or the broking center and presents a recommendation to client. · Upon client's acceptance, binds coverage and issues appropriate documents. Invoices the client and monitors payment by the client to avoid policy cancellation. Responsible for policy checking and delivery to client.· Delivers daily service to the clients for the specific product line that assures that their risk management needs are appropriately met. · Implements and maintains a quality post-sales service plan.· Responsible for and convenes the internal pre-meeting before the renewal strategy meeting.· May participate in renewal strategy, budget and income related meetings · Adheres to Marsh Professional Standards and Marsh Excellence protocols. Client development. · Creates and presents renewal proposals to existing clients and participates in presentations to prospective clients.· Recognizes and explains additional revenues opportunities on behalf of the clients. Product development. · Keeps abreast of changing market conditions and informs client executives, carriers, brokers and/or clients of major developments affecting various types of coverage. · Identifies the need for new products and suggests solutions to brokers and/or carriers. Position will be in NY or DC. 3 to 5 years work exerpience.Must possess and display a solid overall business/finance acumen, computer literacy and well developed interpersonal skills. Must be self motivating. Prior experience in Political Risk, Trade Credit or Int'l banking a plus.
