We are one of the leading insurance companies in the United States.  Our superior financial strength and consistent record of strong operating returns mean security for our customers - and opportunities for our employees.  You will find Travelers to be full of energy and a workplace in which you truly can make a difference. We are currently looking for a Commercial General Liability (CGL)Claim Representative.  Please read on for more details regarding this position. JOB DESCRIPTION: SUMMARYIn this role, you will manage a caseload of General Liability (CGL) claims.  You will be expected to investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle claims within your assigned authority limits.  During the investigation process, you will be responsible for contacting witnesses, insured(s) and claimants in an attempt to discover the facts and move the claim to resolution.  You will be expected to apply case law as applicable and interpret coverage under a general liability policy.  QUALIFICATIONSTo qualify for this position, you must have previous liability experience, preferably in General Liability, third-party property experience, or a position in liability where the incumbent understands negligence.  Must be able to interpret coverage language (ROR) and effectively communicate coverage verbally and in written formats; possess a thorough understanding of the elements of negligence; and the ability to evaluate a contract.  Must be able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining an effective diary system and proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel is a plus.   In addition to an exciting environment, we offer: * Competitive base salary with additional opportunities for variable pay through recognition programs and incentive awards * 401(k) with company match* Comprehensive health plans that include coverage for same sex/domestic partners* Strong work/family and employee assistance programs* Tuition reimbursement * Vacation Purchase Plan* Training/Development opportunities We are proud to provide comprehensive, high quality employee programs to meet employees' needs now and in the future, including a very competitive financial package.
