Allstate was founded in 1931 and became a publicly traded company in 1993.The Communication Manager reports directly to the Corporate Relations Director and will serve as a key member of the Chief Executive Officer Positioning and Support Team in Allstate's corporate headquarters. The successful candidate will partner with the CEO team and serve as the communication manager for the SVP of Corporate Relations. This individual will provide strategic communications counsel and support to the SVP of Corporate Relations. The ideal candidate should be a highly skilled communications professional with seven to eight years of experience which includes stakeholder relationship management, executive positioning, corporate positioning, issues management, media relations, strategic planning and philanthropy. An individual who has prior experience representing a senior executive or a political leader would be ideal. This individual should also have advanced strategic thinking and planning skills, insightful judgment, innovative problem solving ability and be able to influence others. Finally, this individual must have exemplary leadership skills, including developing and maintaining constructive, open and honest relationships with co-workers, leadership and internal and external business partners. The individual will be responsible for:1. Project Management and Organization Manage the executive positioning calendar for the Senior Vice President of Corporate Relations and Interim Chief Marketing Officer. Drive short-term and long-term planning, execution and measurement to ensure the achievement of business objectives. 2. Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Relations Lead the development and implementation of creative, internal and external communication messaging and tactics to drive the strategic vision for Corporate Relations and Marketing. Write speeches and develop internal and external presentations. Support the development and maintenance of best-in-class stakeholder relationships. Represent the Senior Vice President and Interim Chief Marketing Officer at key events, as needed. 3. CEO Team and Reputation Leadership Integration Partner with the CEO Positioning and Support team to integrate the executive positioning platforms and reputation leadership for the CEO and SVP of Corporate Relations and Interim CMO. The ideal candidate should be a highly skilled communications professional with seven to eight years of experience which includes stakeholder relationship management, executive positioning, corporate positioning, issues management, media relations, strategic planning and philanthropy.
