Data Mining Analyst - St. Louis, MO

WellPoint is the nation's leading health benefits company serving the needs of approximately 28 million medical members nationwide.Responsible for assisting with the development and execution of data mining analyses to enhance reporting functionality and identify data relationships and patterns. Essential duties to include, but are not limited to: Extracts and collects data for performing queries and writing reports; models physician fee schedules and creates fee schedule load files. May be involved with new development of standardized reporting using the data warehouse, in addition to adhoc reports. Performs other duties as assigned.BS/BA, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and up to 2 years experience required. PC, spreadsheet, and database skills are preferred, as well as programming education or experience in SQL VB and Business Objects. Claim data analysis experience is strongly preferred along with excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Access and Excel.  Knowledge of physician fee schedules and CPT codes is a plus. Experience with Facets and/or WGS is preferred.
