Data Modeler

 Our client is looking for an individual to be responsible for organizing and maintaining data to be used for various products-related or financial analyses.  This individual will obtain raw data from multiple sources and at various levels of detail and be adept at analyzing and refining the data based on the business need.   Responsibilities: Build and maintain data sources and related statistical and mining tools. Refine data for rate reviews and loss reserve analysis. Assist users in defining data requirements for existing and new products. Analyze raw data from various sources and manipulate into requested output. Provide recommendations based on findings of analysis. Establish data request and delivery protocol. Establish and monitor compliance with data quality. Ensure compliance with company retention policy regarding data. Conduct research to support Product Development’s objectives or management’s request. Actively seek to improve the workflow and processes within Product Development. Qualifications: B.S. or B.A. in Mathematics 3-7 years of insurance industry experience CIDM or AIDM designation preferred but not required CBAP designation desirable Familiarity with VBA is a plus Advanced expertise in MS Access and Excel. Experience with SQL Server. Proficiency with advanced mathematical and statistical concepts. Demonstrate and support a results-oriented culture General knowledge of insurance concepts. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Ability to respond quickly to customer needs/requests. Creativity to get the job done when usual methods are not available. Desire to continually look to improve knowledge or skills. Demonstrated personal leadership skills, ability to foster relationships. Ability to focus on the details while remaining cognizant of the big picture.
