Job Title:  Communications Specialist

Reporting to: Director of CustomerPlus

   

Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate for this position will be a creative, articulate, and self-motivated writer able to research, write, and edit a wide variety of written material.  Responsibilities include the production of marketing and training materials; internal and external newsletters; press releases; website text; white papers; and case studies.  Demonstrable written skills are critical.

 

Blue Cod’s primary customer base is the property and casualty insurance industry, and while not required, an understanding of the basic processes involved in the industry is a considerable plus.  The individual will be asked to interact with technical staff to gain understanding of the many services and products offered by our company.  Attendance at one or two selected trade shows per year is possible.  

 



Knowledge/Experience Requirements:  Understanding that the job responsibilities presented above cover a wide range of skills and experiences, we are flexible on the combination of skills the successful candidate might bring to the position. 

 

·  Proficiency in grammar, vocabulary usage, and composition are essential.

·  Experience with MS Word.  Familiarity with Publisher and PowerPoint is a plus.

·  Strong verbal communication skills.

·  Prior Insurance Industry experience preferrably in property and casualtyClaims, Underwriting, or an Agency) is a plus.

 

Education:  A Bachelor’s degree in English, Writing, or related field is preferred.
