OVERVIEW/GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Director- Hazard Outsourcing will oversee the administration of hazard outsourcing/claims management, loss draft plans, organizes, leads, controls, and coordinates the provision of services of the hazard outsouring claims processing area (disaster recovery; wind, flood, fire damage) for 1st party residential property insurance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS In consultation with superior and subordinate supervisory personnel as appropriate, develops short and long-term goals and plans for areas of responsibility. Develops and secures approval of a coordinated budget for areas of responsibility and guides subordinate managerial personnel in the development of their budgets as necessary. Develops, approves, and (when necessary) secures approval of policies designed to ensure the attainment of agreed upon goals in accordance with approved plans for areas of responsibility. Ensures the development of procedures necessary to implement policy. Provides the overall direction necessary to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective area services. Hires, develops, evaluates, and (when necessary) disciplines and discharges subordinate personnel or makes authoritative recommendations in such matter. Responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective organization for area(s) of responsibility, including: a) efficient work flow patterns; b) established performance standards; c) effective delineation of duties and responsibilities; d) suitable staffing levels; e) appropriate supervision; and f) systems for timely communication of pertinent information. Responsible for the provision of services in Hazard Outsourcing. Including maintaining quality, service and productivity levels. Responsible for insuring best practices and an ongoing program of process improvement to include quality compliance for areas of responsibility. Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate responses to clients and regulatory agencies. May work in conjunction with Product Development to assist with new services, product development, service or product modifications. Serves as a liaison with accounts, resolving any operational, system, client or product issues that may arise. Assist internal sales/marketing staff with preparation of cost analysis models, pricing, new client presentation materials, client presentations and demonstrations/tours of the outsourcing technology and center. Maintain and cultivate staff morale and workflow efficiency of the staff. This may include the development and implementation of incentive programs, employee training, newsletters, meetings and coaching. Participates on committees and in programs for safety, fire prevention, disaster recovery and so forth. Ensures the development and implementation of center specific BCP plans for inclusion in these programs. Remains abreast of developments in the field(s) by pursuing a program of self development, participating in professional organizations, interacting with peers, reviewing pertinent literature, and so forth. Directs the preparation of records as well as recurring and special reports and analyses for areas of responsibility ensuring that they are complete, accurate and prepared on time. Reviews and interprets these in order to ascertain the extent to which goals are being attained and takes corrective action as necessary. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (Minimum Level Necessary) Education: Level of knowledge ordinarily acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience. Rich knowlege of the hazard and casualty residential insurance field; claims processing management experience, coverage analysis, state regulatory analysis. Extensive Management Experience: Five to seven years of progressively more responsible experience in the areas managed. Mortgage servicing, hazard insurance, and claims experience is a plus. Knowledge: Human Resource policies and procedures, area-specific policies and procedures, insurance regulations, insurance policy contract language, specific product knowledge; including processing homeowners insurance claims. Banking knowledge including balancing and reconciliation. Solid Workflow Management Experience required. Drug testing required, fingerprinting may be required.
