Director of Sales

This position is located in Gainesville, Florida.

The incumbent provides leadership for the achievement of new sales results through a sales force that works with agents, brokers, and consultants. The majority of this individuals time is devoted to directing, leading, and implementing the business development activities for a given geographical area. Informal leadership for the Region is shared with other management in that office.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

-Create a climate for exceeding sales goals.
-Support or lead the sales process for the acquisition of new business in targeted market segments and ensure that non-standard proposals comply with administrative capabilities.
-Develop and implement a sales plan to achieve regional goals consistent with the CORE values of the Company.
-Implement tactics that deliver results through agents, brokers, and consultants by enhancing their perception of and satisfaction with AvMed.
-Collaborate with Underwriting to position AvMed to compete in the market and to achieve sales and profit goals.
-Recruit, hire, train, and coach for success a sales team that delivers results and supports the growth of the Region in a highly competitive environment.
-Engage the Community Advisory Board as needed to support business development activities.
-Act as the informal leader in a Regional office to create an environment for shared responsibility with other regional managers for administrative functions such as, switchboard, mailroom, supplies, etc.
-Prepare sales report that tracks sales force performance, summarizes AvMeds competitive win/loss position, and other market information.

Education/Experience:

-Proven ability to deliver sales through a team of sales producers.
-A Bachelors degree, MBA preferred.
-A valid Florida 240 health insurance license.
-A valid Florida driver's license.
-Extensive knowledge of the health insurance and managed care industries.
-Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred for South Florida.
