Long Term Care Group (LTCG) is the nation’s largest administrator of long term care insurance services.  We provide a sophisticated and broad platform of services, including full policy administration, clinical expertise, and product design and development for both group and individual long term care insurance products.

 

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

In this role you will have the opportunity to direct the design, development, implementation and usage of applications and establish the specific architecture for applications and services to meet the needs and business requirements of our company.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Design, implement and maintain application architecture.  Develop and maintain design artifacts as required by the development methodology.

· Provide leadership for development teams including task assignment, follow-up and escalation.

· Perform core duties including design reviews, code reviews and estimating.

· Provide a balanced approach between technical solutions and business requirements for designs and problem resolution.

· Provide project status, time reports and issue tracking.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·B.S. degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience is required.

· 5+ years IT or computer industry related experience required and; 2+ years Java or J2EE experience

· 1-2 years insurance industry experience preferred

· Experience with Internet or intranet, conceptual and physical database modeling, application design and development including: Object Oriented Design (OOD) methodologies, Unified Modeling Language (UML), use cases, context, component and deployment diagrams, sequence and class diagrams.

·Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Java, J2EE, Java Server Pages, Servlets, and EJBs, Java  Development tools * JBuilder, ANT, Microsoft products including: NT, 2000, IIS and Visual Studio (VB, VSS, C++ and ASP)

·Strong communication, documentation and decision-making skills required.  Must have the ability to delegate tasks, follow-up and escalate issues.
