Finance - Intern Safeco is looking for an Intern to join our Corporate FP&A team with a passion for statistical modeling. This is a part-time or short-term opportunity. Safeco is dedicated to community and values a diverse workforce. Responsibilities: Assist with time-series forecasting and trending of production for our 2009 Financial Planning process. This includes running simulations and performing a best-fit analysis using the Crystal Ball Predictor software package. This is an opportunity to apply your statistical analysis and modeling skills to help Safeco make better business decisions and improve financial performance. You will also have the opportunity to make recommendations on ways to improve models and the forecasting methodology. Ideal candidate will have: * Strong analytical and data management abilities * Ability to prioritize, strong attention to detail, and organizational skills * Knowledge of how to leverage data and technology * Creative thinking with a high degree of innovation and self-motivation * Effective communication and presentation skills * A deep passion for statistics, including analysis and modeling Qualifications: * Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills * Knowledge of statistical concepts and methods * Experience with Hyperion Essbase or Crystal Ball Predictor a plus * Experience in financial modeling a plus * Knowledge of the insurance industry a plus We look forward to viewing your resume!
