Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Company: Jackson National Life Insurance Company Contact: Staffing Specialist Email: Apply by Email Address: Lansing, MI 48951 Financial Accountant Responsibilities and DutiesThis position will participate in the compilation of Statutory and GAAP financial statements and exhibits for one or more life insurance companies and affiliated non-insurance companies. These duties will include:· Compilation of balance sheet, income statement and cash flows to meet monthly management reporting as well as quarterly and annual external reporting requirements;· Analyzing results of operations and financial position;· Compilation of annual and quarterly statutory filings with regulatory agencies;· Preparation of audited financial statements filed with regulatory agencies, the SEC and the parent company in the UK;· Monitor and maintain account reconciliations and general ledger transactions to ensure the accurate, consistent and timely reporting of results;· Support the strategic goals of the department and company; and· Perform other assignments as requested. Job Requirements· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting;· Advanced skills in Word, Excel and Access and database management;· Ability to learn and use financial statement and reporting software;· 0-3 years experience in compiling financial statements;· Excellent written and verbal communication skills;· Ability to communicate with management inside and outside the company; and · Ability to meet job requirements with a positive and productive attitude. Preferred Qualifications· Insurance, financial services or public accounting experience.
