Financial Consultant*this position will only be filled in our Chicago, IL office The Financial Consultant will be responsible for supporting the closing, reconciling, analysis and reporting of the general ledger and will review and monitor plans, policies, and procedures of the department to ensure that they are in compliance with those prescribed by management. Essential duties to include, but are not limited to: Responsible for internal and external monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis including the preparation of accounting report schedules, monthly journal entries, and complex account reconciliations. Reviews and verifies accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in field of specialization and provides leadership in identifying objectives, key issues, approaches, resources required, timelines, and results. Manages projects to deadlines, which may include leading people and managing deliverables. Designs research plans for data gathering and analysis and coordinates accounting matters with other departments, locations, and divisions as required. Responsible for initiation and resolution of complex accounting problems requiring technical expertise. Actively participates or leads in developing recommendations and action plans. Is an independent problem solver and decision-maker. Responsible for training and reviewing the work of less experienced Finance and Accounting associates with an emphasis on team leadership skills. Prepares and updates documentation surrounding the close process. Performs other related duties as assigned.The ideal candidate will have:BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required. CPA preferred. Knowledge of the healthcare industry is desirable. 3 - 5 years previous general accounting and management reporting experience required. Previous work experience with month end close processes, account reconciliation, and statutory accounting principles preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, presentation, analytical skills, advanced PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word). Ability to take initiative and work on multiple projects under specified deadlines. Demonstrated analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
