HCC Service Company ("HCC Service"), is seeking an Financial Services Manager. HCC Service is a subsidiary of HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. HCC Insurance has assets exceeding $8.1 billion and shareholders’ equity of over $2.4 billion.  Provide single point of accountability in the leadership, management, and use of computer technology by key business leaders within the HCC financial community in order to assist in meeting strategic and tactical business goals.   This position will report to the Vice President, Insurance Company and Staff Services

 

 Responsibilities

 

· Oversee IT operations in support of the Houston based HCC financial community. 

· Plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT-related activities of the team, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities.

· Work closely with customers in the HCC financial community to identify, prioritize, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective financial technology solutions in alignment with business objectives.

· Form partnerships with the business community.

· Collaboratively create and deliver the business unit’s long term IT agenda and short term activity plan.Ensure IT delivery is managed with transparency (clear service definition, SLA, cost recharges, service reviews and monitoring metrics) and is regularly communicated.

· Ensure day to day operations meet all required service levels.

· Appropriately upgrade technologies to ensure continued meeting of service levels.

· Direct activities to ensure prompt resolution of issues.

· Manage expense budget.Perform supervisory administrative duties such as performance and compensation reviews, vacation management, staff planning, headcount analysis, employee (staff) development etc.

· Train/cross-train to prevent single points of failure; Continuously improve staff performance and capabilities.Ensure SOX/Controls compliance/monitoring.Work with customers, assisting in assessing and selecting corporate financial systems. Proactively identify opportunities for technology to support business performance and competitive advantage.

· Regularly report on departmental performance.

· Perform all work in accordance with IT processes and corporate policies

· Work with IT risk management and security to reduce IT and business risk

 Skills and Requirements

 Must have a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent 6 years of proven experience.Must have a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a similar role.

· Demonstrable experience of supporting and working with (customizing) finance systems.

 

· Experience in customer service interaction.Possess high level of interest in business and technology.

· Must be a team player with the ability to interact and work well with others.

· Ability to develop, manage and coach staff members.Independent worker and thinker, self-motivated and a self starter.Strong accounting background, CPA a plusInsurance industry experience a plusExperience in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
