Birmingham, AL 35243 Full Time, Employee Rotating, Third Shift (Night), Second Shift (Afternoon), First Shift (Day) Administrative/Clerical 1+ to 2 Years High School or equivalent Description Work Schedule: Varies; any day between the hours of 10 AM to 12 Midnight; specific shift discussed at interview.Receives incoming calls, enters information into the system and begins the claims handling process. Trains to confirm coverage, conduct initial investigation and facilitate negotiation and settlement of assigned claims. Ensures assigned claims are handled in accordance with Company policies and concluded promptly, equitably and economically as appropriate to the damage and the provisions of the insurance contract in accordance with applicable law. As a member of the claims call center, is also responsible for assisting and directing callers to the appropriate party regardless of the department involved. Since this is an entry level claim handling position, the incumbent works with minimal authority under direct supervision.Requirements Minimum of one (1) year full time work experience in a position requiring the use of analytical skills, customer service and good judgement in a fast paced environment. Personal Computer skills. Typing skills of 25 wpm or 3,000 ksh with 95% accuracy. Credit and background checks required.Planning and organizing skills. Written and oral communication skills. Some position may require specific bilingual skills. Ability to deal with conflict in a professional manner.
