HEALTHCARE INFORMATICS ANALYST Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, or Salt Lake City, UTThe Regence mission is to transform healthcare, reducing healthcare waste, cost, and confusion for our members and their families. As owners of the Regence Data Warehouse, the Healthcare Informatics division supports Underwriting, Actuarial, Provider and Member Services - as well as other divisions - with advanced analytical tools, methods, and services to help lead, manage, and facilitate fact-based decision-making. Healthcare Informatics' positive influence is felt throughout Regence and within the healthcare community. Healthcare Informatics Analysts are highly analytical and data-driven contributors to the customers they serve, and to the Regence mission. As their career progresses, an analyst is expected to develop a rich expertise in the content and functionality of the various information systems that are relevant to their area of responsibility. Commensurate with their experience and expertise, analyst and senior analyst responsibilities will range from basic support to project management and leadership of Regence strategic and operational initiatives. Most analysts have a deep expertise with the clinical or financial systems that drive our insurance operations. This position will maximize the impact of our talented and dynamic teams by maintaining, developing, and deploying the reporting and semantic layers of our Business Objects Enterprise infrastructure. A highly qualified candidate will be innovative in an ambiguous environment with the following skills:Excellent interpersonal skillsAn interest in healthcare and the passion to make a differenceBachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or an equivalent related fieldDevelopment experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Business Objects Enterprise XI, Crystal Reports 10 or 11, Web IntelligenceDemonstrated knowledge of data warehousing methods and processesStrong computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, statistical analysis, data warehousing, SQL, OLAP) Experience in medical economics and/or health informatics, health insurance analysis methods, especially related to applications for predictive modelingExperience in Cost Accounting, Utilization analysis, ROI analysis, NPV estimation, etc., are highly desirable Experience with decision support systems, designing and developing key performance indicators, gathering reporting requirements and translating into content Must have well developed business acumen (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management) Solid oral and written communication skills Proven ability to perform difficult analytical tasks with minimal supervision Demonstrated success with project management skills and conceptsAdvanced knowledge of program evaluation concepts and methodologies, with expertise in program effectiveness analysis, measurement, and reporting Ability to work independently on complex projects and issues with large financial and/or risk impact to the corporation Hard work and dedication is rewarded at Regence: We offer a competitive salary and a generous benefits package.
