In the United States, Stonebridge Life Insurance Company has four primary locations: Atlanta, Georgia; Baltimore, Maryland; Frazer, Pennsylvania; and Plano, Texas.
Purpose: Provides human resources management expertise and consulting services to management and staff including policy development and administration, recruitment and retention of staff, compensation administration, Safety and health, employee relations, compliance and employee programs and services. Ensures that all activities are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
1.Develops and administers policies and procedures in a consistent manner which comply with governmental regulations. Provides advice and mediation regarding policy interpretation to management and staff.
2.Assists senior management in developing proactive strategies to facilitate the most appropriate organizational structures, which lead to successful outcomes. Identifies and develops recruitment and retention strategies which attract highly competent individuals and reduce hiring costs and turnover. Through staff recruits, screens and refers qualified individuals to management for vacancies, ensuring equal opportunity. Through staff oversees in-house temporary staffing services.
3.Consults with management and staff regarding employee relations issues ensuring consistency in application of policies. Informs management of issues as necessary and recommends and/or initiates appropriate action and resolution. Interfaces with Counsel to resolve legal issues arising from unresolved employee relations issues.
4. Oversee the design and development of compensation strategy and programs.
5.Through staff maintains performance management system. Recommends appropriate corrective action and/or termination of employment as necessary. Through staff assists managers with the preparation and implementation of disciplinary actions and terminations. Analyzes turnover data and initiates remedies as required.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience/Background
Minimum Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business, human resources, or related field.
· 10 years in various Human Resources functions with at least 5 of those years being in supervision/management.
Desired Requirements:
· Knowledge of human resource management.
· Ability to develop and implement strategy, policies and procedures across functions.
· Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to provide coaching and counseling to others.
· Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and in a diverse work group.
· Ability to drive and support change initiatives.
· Influential and inspiring.
· Business or Insurance Principles: Knowledge of business principles to solve problems.
TRAVEL: 30% between Atlanta, Baltimore, Exton & Canada.
