Healthcare Underwriter-Employer Stop Loss

Currently, Chubb is seeking a Healthcare Underwriter-Employer Stop Loss for the Accident Benefits and Life department in Whitehouse Station, NJ office.


The HealthCare Underwriter II is responsible for developing and executing the business plan for the HealthCare Stop Loss line of business in a given territory in accordance with the Home Office strategy. This would include working with company sales representatives, TPAs and brokers to produce premium and profit and manage expenses consistent with the plan.


The individual in this position will underwrite new business prospects for Employer Stop Loss and Managed Care Stop Loss as well as underwrite renewals for either or both products. This individual will actively manage and grow a block of business by maintaining existing relationships and developing new relationships with producers, specialty service providers and key accounts.


Additionally, the HealthCare Underwriter II position will be responsible for researching and analyzing industry trends and will work with management in helping to identify emerging issues and opportunities. This individual will also significantly contribute to or lead team projects. The HealthCare Underwriter II position may work directly with various support areas to include legal and compliance, actuarial, and sales and marketing to develop or improve procedures, analyze various aspects of the business and business environment and assist in implementing action plans.

Skills/Competencies:
- Candidate will have 5 years of underwriting experience with Employer Stop Loss, Managed Care Stop Loss or other relevant Health/Medical products for a major insurance company.
- Three to five years of experience managing an underwriting function.
- A demonstrated understanding of the healthcare marketplace and the issues facing the industry.

Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business or other related or pertinent field of study.
