IS-Security Specialist

 The primary responsibility of this position is to establish and implement policies and procedures and promote security awareness to minimize security risks to the Company’s information assets and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.   

Responsibilities will be to:

·  assist in developing the information security vision

·  present information to management regarding purchase and installation of security software/hardware systems

·  monitor security logs, investigate information security incidents and prepare detailed reports for management review and action

·  ensure appropriateness of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for all computer platforms

·  act as a liaison to internal and external auditors to ensure audit recommendations pertaining to information security are met in a timely manner

·  facilitate risk analysis and assessments on systems to ensure risks are known and mitigated

 

This position requires (a):

· four-year college degree, in information systems, computer-related, mathematics or business degree

· ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality

· experience with security systems required

· broad understanding of architecture, applications, technology and infrastructure required

· working knowledge of IBM/MVS and WAN/LAN environment

· strong leadership skills

· strong presentation skills

· strong written and oral communication skills

· professional security designation desired
